You are correct in that you are on the wrong forum. This is 2nd Generation K bikes....yours is first generation. Report there and you may find more help.

I did own a 1993 K1100RS for years. It was a great bike. It was the next version of the one you are looking at. Be aware that these bikes do run HOT.....meaning with a aluminum fuel tank and a very hot day can be bad.
Meaning I have burnt my inner thighs where they touched the tank and one ride in Mexico (in the 100s F) my left boot sole melted because that's where the headers are. But those cases are extreme.

The other problem is that this is a 34 yo bike you are looking at. It no doubt will need a very careful look-over. Rubber, wires and everything should be heavily reviewed.

I'd suggest a newer K bike....if you must have one.

Help please

1985 K100. tell me about the good, the bad and ugly about this bike
Not sure if this is the right place but

A friend is looking at a K100 (1985?) with 30k on the clocks. $1500 or less.what are the Good things, bad things, or just turn and run the opposite direction things about this bike
