Hi, new owner of 02 R1150RT here

The title is self explanatory as to what brought me here. This looks to be a fairly busy site dedicated to the make.

I'm a casual cyclist really. Started out on Honda 4 cyl bikes, CB350four, CB550. Bought a brand new 1975 Moto-Guzzi 850-T in 1992. Rode that about 35K and took it apart to repair the clutch (and refurbish top to bottom) in 2009. That is a project still in progress however slowly. Hope to finish this winter after kid goes off to school. Current have and ride a '77 CB750F. Just picked up a 2002 R1150R yesterday to make a trip out west for the Solar Eclipse and to visit family later next month.

That's why I'm here. Picked up the bike. Now that I have it, it has had somewhat sparse maintenance, however it should be fine. My confidence is pretty high in it. Once I work out a couple issues, it should be golden for quite some time I think. I'm hoping to get a little direction in solving a couple issues. At this point, not sure what I can give back?

The bike has 44K miles on it, a fairly fancy (and very comfortable) Corbin seat with 2 back rests and heaters. Why heaters? I think I'll leave them unplugged. Also has a signal minder installed. Not sure if that's working as it should. Paid $3600 for it in mid-Michigan about 60 miles from home.

I'm an engineer by trade. I dabble in machining with a lathe in the garage and do a fair amount of 3D desing and have a hobby 3D printer that I use quite a bit.

Welcome to the forum Matt. The RT is a great machine and with only 44k on the clock it's just barely broken in. Should provide you with many years and miles of great riding.
