2016 1600gtl

Hi
I just bought this bike and will be picking it up on thur. I have been reading how hard it is to use the center stand. I guess i am going to mis my button on my 2006 1200lt it is a lot easier Is it bad to leave it on the side stand? My ninja is always on the side!!

EDIT: No problem leaving on side stand for extended periods, no smoke!

Welcome from Kennesaw GA!

Not sure on the GTL, but my RT will smoke if it's left on the side stand for more than a few hours.

I've always assumed it has to do with the engine being flat and all of the oil running into the left head as opposed to an inline or v-twin that will keep oil in both heads, regardless of being level. Don't think the smoking really hurts anything, just annoying.

I also went from an EHCS from the LT to the manual K1600 center stand, and was intimidated at first, but after getting over the initial reluctance, have no problem getting it up on the CS. I use the side stand and the center stand about equally. However, when I park it in the garage, I roll it into a Condor wheel chock that I had used for the LT.
