New K1200LTE Owner in Connecticut
I just bought a beautiful 2003 K1200LTE with 23K miles. It's loaded, with a CB, anti-theft/alarm system, Navigator and PIAA driving lights in the fairing. The dealer put in a new battery and mounted a new set of Metzeler 888 Marathons as part of the deal. Judging by its pristine condition, it came from a good home. I'm just 10 miles north of MAX BMW in Brookfield, Ct. and, although I'm new to MAX, the bike isn't and they have its service history from another of their locations. Everything looks up to date, upright and shipshape. All for a relative pittance considering the bike's condition and capabilities.
I've ridden every year since 1971 and my garage holds a 1988 GL1500, 2004 R1150R and, now, a K1200LT. My intent was to sell the Wing but we have 25 years of history together and I'm having a hard time letting go. Guess I'll start the summer with all three and see how it goes. Past BMWs were an R100GS (PURPLE!), R100R and K100RS.
I'm retired in the Litchfield Hills, a beautiful rural area of New England with great riding all around. The Catskills, Adirondacks, Berkshires and Green Mountains of Vermont are all within easy reach. Lucky me!
Maybe I have neighbors here on the forum?
I'll be around...
