new BMW owner

hello everyone. I have been riding for 40 plus years. I have owned everything from metrics to exotics, dirt bikes to crotch rockets and choppers back in the day. Currently own a sporster and just purchased a 13 year old K1200LT, one of the bikes on my bucket list. I am also into muscle cars and own a couple of them as well. I am an active member of a local masonic riders group, low 12 riders, hello to all my brothers out there. I am looking forward to getting my bike on the road and interacting with the group here.

thanks. going to have to get used to the weight... have not had a machine of this size for about 5 years now. my sporty is 300 pounds lighter.. LOL... already laid it over in the soft soil out back... that was an ego crusher.. LOL

first saw one of these about 10 years ago and fell in love, but didn't have the opportunity to pick one up until recently and then I ran into three of them at the same time. all about the same age, but this one was the lowest mileage and the guy seemed to be the most straight up of the three, so I rolled the dice.

Re: new BMW owner

Rick,

Welcome to the forum, there is lots of useful information here on the Lt. Sounds like you know how to wrench so look at the technical section under the tools drop down for a start. Then ask away if you need help with something.
