Greetings from IL, USA

I just bought a 2002 KLT from it's original owner. It was lovingly cared for over it's first 59K miles. My first 150 miles have me grinning ear-to-ear. What a wonderful machine.

I used to own and restore old Brit cars (Austin Healeys, MGs,
TVR). Then interests changed to motorcycles. They take up a lot less
room in the garage when you take them completely apart I've owned a '81 Suzuki, 3 Triumphs ('68,'69,'71), '82 Honda Nighthawk, and a naked '77 Goldwing. I fixed up the '77 Wing three years back; This summer took it camping on a 2,400 mile round trip to Mt. Rushmore/Devil's tower area.

I'm sure to have mechanical questions for you as things come up. No
problems turning a wrench, the old Triumphs provide plenty of 'practice' The 2002 KLT is the newest bike I've ever owned!

Re: Greetings from IL, USA

Thank you for the welcome and I'll be sure to check out those tech videos. Appreciate the link!

Still figuring things out but I'll try to add to my public profile.

Also had a Honda CL100 in the past. Restored a 1964 Yamaha YJ1, that's become a fixture in my office.

Re: Greetings from IL, USA

Welcome Merical,

Kirk's videos (@ illinoisbmwriders.com) are a must watch and very helpful. This forum has several LT experts that are a valuable resource for advice on technical issues. Be sure your "new" ride has metal quick disconnects, and the brake lines have been changed out.
