I live in SE Ohio but work at Fort Knox, KY. I trailered my LT down here a couple of weeks ago, and I think I'll be riding it home Fridays after work and then back to Fort Knox on Sundays -- starting this Friday. Can't wait.

Re: Ok, Midwest, Lets Hear it

But it is supposed to be 60 Friday.
Sucks for the 30's after that and more snow Monday or Tuesday.
Think positive, soon.

Between the mud in my driveway, salt and gravel on the roads, my bike is still parked.

Maybe in a couple of weeks

We put a few hundred miles on today. We went to Yalaha bakery http://www.yalahabakery.com/ for lunch... But when again, we spend the winters in Florida.

Re: Ok, Midwest, Lets Hear it

Was tempted
One Friday and one Saturday before that we encroached on 60 but all that did was start the snow melt. And as soon as the snow was gone here came two more over nighters to cover up things again only to disappear with the bright sun shine the following days. I guess what I am trying to say is it looks promising. We still have not gotten that rain wash of the street. And Pot Holes galore.

Re: Ok, Midwest, Lets Hear it

Almost 200 miles today.
Getting rid of the cobwebs in other thread. Still mention of cold weather to start next week. So I am glad I took advantage of 70 degrees. It is very scarce around here.

Re: Ok, Midwest, Lets Hear it

I rode to work all but one day last week. Cold in the morning but mostly 50s for the ride home. Things were looking good. The weekend brought cold and rain back. There has got to be an end to this crappy weather

Re: Ok, Midwest, Lets Hear it

I'm now ready to go! All fluids changed, tires checked, tupperware removed, cleaned and replaced, loose fasteners tightened, top case hinge solidly in place, needless to say, my spring thorough going over has been completed. Test ride sounded and felt great. Now here comes the rain. :roll eyes:
Gotta love the Midwest.

Have fun,
Jer

Re: Ok, Midwest, Lets Hear it

The wife and I just got back last night from the Smoky Mountains. We attending "Spring Training Camp" down at the IronHorse Motocycle Lodge. It felt great to get away from crappy oHIo and into the great weather and amazing roads and scenery of NC/TN. I've been attending that event since 2004 only missing a couple years, and this was my wife's first time now that the kids are getting older. We both had a GREAT time!!! Nothing like a couple thousand miles of riding to kickoff the riding season!

Hope y'all can get out there and ride, when weather permits.

- Joe

Re: Ok, Midwest, Lets Hear it

No laughing matter
That white stuff outside on my grass at this moment is not fertilizer. Here is a hint: it is below freezing and it was drizzling earlier. Happy for last Friday and Saturday to get some miles under my belt. How long is the wait this time

Re: Ok, Midwest, Lets Hear it

Had a good spring gully washer here yesterday. Salt and most of the sand are now downstream. I did ride to work most of last week. Little cool going home. Not bad with the heat on.

Re: Ok, Midwest, Lets Hear it

My nephew (on his R 1150 R) and I (on my LT) rolled out of Chicago on Friday and rode to Dalton, GA. for 4 days of riding in the N Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina mountains.

We had a great time on some nice curvy roads including Deals Gap, the Cherohola Skyway and the Blue Ridge Parkway among others. The weather was nice until Monday's ride home which got colder as we went north and included rain at times and snow when we hit NW Indiana.

The bikes ran great and we had a good time.
It was basically the first ride of the year for both of us.
