I guess I can't complain as much as you... but hey... let's whine a little together... The 3 month outlook on The Weather Channel was that February will be colder than normal and then March will be "true spring" and warm, and then April will be far hotter than normal.

Wind chill only effects bare skin. They never reported wind chill temps when I was a kid. We knew better than to go outside unprotected.

I rode at 100mph for several miles early this morning on the interstate on my way to work. It was about 25F. I was on a 2000 R1100R with no windscreen. My helmet had a air leak directly to my forehead & it felt like I had ate a bowl of ice cream to fast.

We had 5 above this morning. Supposed to hit 0 tonight. No snow, but Friday's forecast could be a doozie. Coworkers up north in Cleveland are expecting 3 FEET of snow. That's nuts.

It's currently 8 degrees on the southwest side of Cleveland. FREAKING COLD!!!

It was 9 F this morning when I woke up... I think that it was 3 F yesterday morning. I try to avoid looking at the forecast... adds some suspense to my life.

We've been getting a weird inversion in the PNW for the last week. Two days ago it was 30 degrees at my house (800 feet) and 64 degrees at the Paradise parking lot (Mt Rainier visitor center).

Could be worse.
No measurable snow for me yet I will deal with this Siberia like window fleeting soon. Focus on the big picture mid April or early May.

I was in Chicago this week and it was COLD to say the least! Just glad it didn't snow though.

Last night a slight dusting that a good stiff wind would not take care of. For us this is rather mild not the zero's and the wind chills but the fact there is no snow. This is not a weather lesson but snow and ice on the ground gives us a sustained cold but when the ground is bare and the sun is out your mind gets all screwy. Why is it so D*** cold

I knew I would pay a heavy price for last year! The weather was so warm and dry this time last year I was making ice cream runs up north. It was funny finding ice cream receipts in my pocket in 100 degree July for Jan 16th. The worse part for me is that they must have surplus of sand and salt, I've seen it An inch deep in some places. I can dress for cold but that big LT doesn't like sliding thru corners.

I wish it was warm enough outdoors for ice cream (low 40's would work for me)

Don't worry about the cold, just look for dry streets, bundle up & ride. I was out last Friday & Saturday in W. Michigan. It was great, everyone got out of my way so quickly I thought I was riding an RTP for a bit. I think they just felt sorry for the idiot riding a motorcycle in January around town and on the freeway. My LT likes it cold, no stutters, to nothing but 'more throttle' from her.

40-50 degrees with rain in the next couple of days followed by quickly dropping temps below, way below freezing again.

I would, but man, temps below freezing freak me out due to possible ice.

I took a picture of my cars dash when I came home last night, it wasn't the coldest I have seen this week but -17ºC is pretty darn cold.

I thought I had the proper outwear and all, but ended up with this nasty cold.

Did walk up the street last Sunday to Giordano's on Michigan Ave and had a pretty good pizza.

A cold is a viral infection (coronaviruses) & has nothing to do with the weather. There is an ingredient in beer that helps fight the virus. It takes about 30 12oz beers to work if at all.

I heard it was cold up there . My wife & I road our K1200LT/ Hannigan rig down to Key West a few days ago... it was around 77 there...

Here is how we claimed the title. Went to bed 3am Fri 25th all clear and temps rising so promise of good day right . . . WRONG the morning rush was typical Chicago caught the city off guard. Luckily it was a little more than an inch. We have withstood way more than that. The surprise was it was the 1st official measure of snow since last winter an all time record.

Hey I've ridden to work almost everyday this year. 0 degrees? Heck.

All I know is when I got to Chicago at Midway on the 19th, it was 47, sunny, no wind and I wasn't sick, three days later it was 0 and I was sick!

It looks like Chicago may make it into the 60's tomorrow, jeeesh!

Here's why, yesterday 46 with evening sun today 61 with spring rain. At this rate we could loose the Siberia title which I would not mind at all. And get like the southeast or southwest then we can ride 365 a year.
Anyway winter is disappearing and time for that first ride is getting closer.

I hear you. It seems the pattern this winter has been snow every 2nd or 3rd day. Our best local TV meteorologist reported that February will be colder, and with more snow, than usual. And that stinks because February is always our coldest/snowiest month.

A case or to the TV weather person might help a correction of that forecast.
January is over so I can a sign of relief. Our biggest record was a lack of snow but in the last 5 days we have averaged 1+ inch. taking us to a grand total of 7.23. For us temps are more the record setter in Feb. and March begins a waiting game for streets to dry and get rid of salt and ice. So all in all winter has been short so far. And the forum and this thread have helped. There is no incentive for me just to pull the bike out for a couple hours or a day here or there. I want to be able to get on it and keep going.

I don't like my glass half empty I prefer it to be half full I mean isn't that what reality is all about. How you see things. Today I got the full glass 9AM rain . . . rain mixed . . . then ice was added to the glass and at noon topped of with snow not a bad measure.

Well, if this is the case, someone needs to tell old man Winter because it sure seems most people suffer from colds in the wintertime than during other seasons.

Beer also fights stress, heat exhaustion, and sometimes depression. If you inadvertently swallow something poisionous, then you can drink enough beer until it induces vomiting so you can puke up the poison. I think it's one of those miracle cures. I keep meaning to get one of those home brew kits to start my own pharmacy.

Luckily this front that went through last night was a lot of hype. It's warm enough here that most major roads are still clear. Backroads are pure slush. We just need the average high temp to be close to what the average high should be (38)
