Anybody in for Ride to Indiana

Anybody in for a ride to Indiana to the Essenhaus in Middlebury In.;;; address 240 US 20 ;for some lunch at NOON on Saturday,Date 1/12.
I am about two hours north of Middlebury and the weather and roads sound like they will be good shape; its going to rain between now and Saturday so the salt will be off the roads also;;.nice Saturday;; I thought I would see if thier is any interest for riders of different directions of Middlebury;just to meet fellow riders .

Re: Anybody in for Ride to Indiana

I like the idea but I googled Middlebury & I'm about 4 hours away - too far. But, sometime this spring I was thinking of taking a ride to Astech in Jonesboro IN - they do custom gel seat mods for our LTs & they can do them in a few hours while you wait. I'm still new to my bike so I wanted to wait a bit before modding it.

Just an idea.

I would be all for it, and took a ride today, BUT Saturday is my sons birthday and he has plans for me down south. Maybe next time for me.

I may be interested. It depends on if there's a bunch of people coming or just us... and of course I have to check with my wife.

I live about 20 miles from the essenhaus though... so it'd be an easy ride for me.

Re: Anybody in for Ride to Indiana

Tiffany's is really a good spot... so is the 5 & 20. I can't join however... apparently my lovely (sarcasm) wife made plans for me with her family and didn't tell me. So I'm sorry. I however can offer up any info as to good eats. Like, Vic's Icebox in Middlebury, has great homemade ice creams. fantastic blue moon.

Re: Anybody in for Ride to Indiana

Guess this weather has us all dealing in uncharted waters.
54 deg. and rain in Chicago on Jan 11 tomorrow 46 can't believe it. Rode to Cleveland this summer and stayed of the interstate. Rode US20 and 2 and US6 most of the way. East of South Bend we went through every Amish community it seems. Horse drawn buggies on both sides, enjoyable and peaceful countryside.
For me it just on this side of 200 miles still quite a challenge for this time of year with my mindset of indoor activity not to mention the unpredictability of the flu season. Just a thought but great ride.

How was your ride Gary? I would have liked to have gone but I was car shopping with my youngest son. He got one. German made of course.

On my trip to Michigan last month I only saw two bikes on the road. One was a RT & the other was a Gold Wing. Glad you enjoyed your ride Gary.
