Dr. Bill Steen

About 25 years ago I had the opportunity to meet Bill and provide him with training on a Hughes 500D helicopter. A few years later I needed cataract surgery. Since his office was in Shreveport and he was a flight surgeon, it only made sense for him to do my surgery.

Bill was always a true advocate of BMW motorcycles and had an influence on my decision to give BMW a try after riding Hondas for years. He also was an aviation enthusiast ...being checked out in jets as well as helicopters. We had a lot in common with the exception of salaries.

The world has lost a great surgeon...a true gentleman....and a friend.

RIP Bill

Ron, he sounds like someone anyone would be glad to call friend. An unfortunate tragedy. Prayers go out to all his friends & family.

A man like that is an inspiration to me and many others.

The world is a better place having had him in it for the short time he was here.

Ron...Sorry you lost your friend.

Wow.. I think I've heard of the good Dr... a tragic loss to his family and those who have lost a wonderful friend...

May God take him into his tender mercies... and may he rest in peace with all the Saints....

See ya on the other side, Doc....

Yet another justification to get rid of all those horned-rats.

Re: Dr. Bill Steen

Very sorry for the loss of your friend and the family's. We'll keep him in our prayers. Meanwhile a major loss not only to the community but to the nation.
I think this is yet another eye opener and it always helps to take refreshers in MSF where you're up to date with your evasive maneuver skills. But then that could be a hit and miss as these darn deer can appear out of nowhere. What do you do?
