I sent Dan a PM yesterday to let him know I was riding over to the dealer where he bought his LT this sat. to see if he wanted tag along.
His wife replied that he had passed away in December. I only met Dan twice and really enjoyed talking with him. I used his Idea of storing my tire repair kit on the back side of the license plate holder in a tupperware box. Thanks Dan for the idea. He had a sticker on the back of his bike that said One Less Harley On The Road. He rode Harleys for years & really liked his LT. I'm sure someone will chime in on one of his joke he played on others. I'll miss ya Dan & I'll take my LT up to the bike show in Statesville for you one time this summer.

Re: danbrown

Dan loved to pull a prank on someone, anyone. I met him at a tech session two years ago at Surry Community College. He had a silicone "oil spill" that he would throw on the ground under a Harley and watch as mayhem ensued. He even got me to drop it under John Bowles' bike during the tech session. The look on John's face was PRICELESS! That's why Dan did it. He loved a good gag. I'm saddened to learn he's gone, but I know wherever he is, anyone around will be laughing.

Rest in peace, Dan.

Re: danbrown

Sad day, he'll be missed.

He "taught me" to put the BMW tool kit on a thin rubber sheet under the seat (above the battery). Works like a champ.

Re: danbrown

Wow...it really saddens me to hear this. I worked on Dan's bike many times and he would NEVER let me do it without trying to pay me. I would usually find the money stashed somewhere in my toolbox after he left. Dan would always bring extra supplies (rags, brake cleaner, etc) and kept my stock up for sometime. He and his wife had a wonderful relationship and rode many, many miles together. That wonderfullly deep voice of his will be missed. I only wish I had known sooner...I certainly would have cared for them in some tangible way during this loss...maybe I still can.

Anyone have contact information? Please PM me. God bless ya Dan....
