Bean Arthur

It is with a sad heart that I pass along this note from Don to his Family and Friends dated March 25, 2009.

Friends of Bean,

We're profoundly saddened to let you know that our beloved Bean passed away
this afternoon. Unbelievably, she had another fall (tripped over our dog,
Bailey, while going down stairs) and suffered fractures in her neck. The
day after she was released from the hospital, while Lindsey and I were
running errands, a visiting neighbor found her in cardiac arrest. Although
the initial resuscitation successfully restored a heart rhythm, the damage
to her brain was irrecoverable. She passed this afternoon after her three
daughters and I had a chance to tell her how much we loved her and that her
spirit will forever live through us.

Services will be held at the National City Christian Church in Washington DC
(http://www.nationalcitycc.org) this Sunday (the 29th of March) at 5pm.

There are four things Bean wanted. First - and you can just imagine - she
wanted people to celebrate life and how her relationship with us contributed
to its beauty. Second, she wanted to eschew the inherent sadness of wearing
black but, instead, to wear colorful clothes to her memorial service.
Third, in lieu of flowers, she wanted donations sent to the ASPCA and any
charity which benefits the fight against breast cancer. And, fourth, she
wished to be cremated and her ashes spread where she enjoyed being - to
nourish the flowers of the wooded walking paths where she and Bailey walked
as partners each day. We will honor all these wishes. and more.

Please join me in thanking the Lord for His incredible gift of her
friendship and love.

Don, Rose, Lindsey, and Robin

Bean Arthur's Memorial Site

This is the link to the memorial site done by Don and his daughters.

It only works with Internet Express, not Firefox as I found out.

If you have Firefox, for example, go here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...?q=mht&cat=all to get
the add-on that will work for you.

RIP Bean.

Sad and shocking news indeed. I only read this today.
Don and family, I join you in thanking the Lord for Bean.
My heart goes out to you all.
I remember walking with Panther those same wooded walking paths behind your house as Bean has. A fitting place for her ashes.
I'll wear sth colourful today and remember her.

My heartfelt condoleances.
Victor

Re: Bean Arthur

Don
I rarely look in this folder and for some reason did today. I am sorry to hear that Bean has passed and I just wanted to let you know, although I never had the pleasure of getting to meet her, I am truely saddened by her passing. Mainly for you and the losses you have encountered in the past few years. As was on her memorial site and you know far too well, God doesn't close a door without opening a window. Please accept my condolences from my family.

Re: Bean Arthur

Don and family -

Just got this info today. Sad, indeed, when we lose a life partner; and Bean was extraordinary. Know she is held in love.

Godspeed, Bean.
