Question HID high beam adjustment

I went for the first ride last night after HID install of both high and low beams. I am not able to get the high beam low enough. I have the headlight adjusted all the way down and I am still hitting low flying aircraft and tree tops. What did I do wrong with the install?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi:

Which kit did you use?

You can adjust the headlight better if you use the additional knob behind the headlight housing (right side of headlight housing where the cable from the dash mount adjustment knob terminates).

I used the CQlighting kit. Is it possible to place the bulb incorrectly into the mounting. I have the adjustment as low as it will go and high beam is REALLY high!

Thanks for your help.

You have a depth problem or the metal retainer is loose. Try this:

Open the dust cover, turn on the high beam, push the back of the HID bulb in towards the headlight lens. See if that makes a difference.

Let me know what you find out.

Theres a lot of voltage at that light bulb. If it were me I make adjustments then turn her on. Electricity takes the path of least resistance and we all know the headlight assembly has a poor ground at best. I bet that baby gets pretty hot too. Most importantly You need to adjust the low beam. Then double check the alignment of the bulb in the housing. Double check the low beam also cause it maybe off.

Hid high beam

I have a problem with my kit from HIDS4U LTD the low beam fits in ok but the high beam bulb does not fit into that bracket on my 2000lt.It would take a large bit of fabrication to make it fit and I would like to be able to change back to stock if the occasion arises. So I do not want to change bracket. What kits are completely plug n play for both high and low beam? And can anyone help me on my present problem.Wes

I bought an HID-Online low beam and a CQLight High beam...

The HID-Online was literally plug and play.. When I bought it it was over $300. I don't use the high enough to spend that kind of money.

The CQ was fiddle and cuss.. but it worked eventually. Not worth the discount if your not into fiddling.. The only reason I bought from that vendor was because of the price.

IMO, the discount price wasn't worth the aggravation. If I have to do over I will definitely consider a vendor that has instructions that were written by someone in the US... they were almost comical...

Of course everyone has different priorities.. so YMMV
