Modulating Headlamp CANBUS Conflict

I bought a Kisan Pathblazer for my 2013 R1200RT. This is a product I've used on K1200LT's, Harley Ultra Classics, and other bikes with no problem. However, shortly after installing this, the flashing icon of a failed front headlight appeared in my instrument console (not, however the yellow triangle). The headlight properly flashed but I assume the CANBUS system didn't like the unit. I really like the safety benefits of this device. Has anyone else had experience with how to rectify this problem?

Yep... contact Kisan and get the module that works with the CANBUS system.

Re: Modulating Headlamp CANBUS Conflict

CanBus already modulates the headlight voltage, although not to the extent that it's visible to the eye.

The Pathblazer and similar items are incompatible with the CanBus system.

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Re: Modulating Headlamp CANBUS Conflict

The unit I installed was the CANBUS compatible version. I spoke to Kisan when I bought it to be sure. They design this version specifically to allow CANBUS system use.

Re: Modulating Headlamp CANBUS Conflict

I looked at a Kisan device but for a hexhead and rejected it because its connector at the 6 wire bulkhead was an approxiamtion with very slightly different connector dimensions and not a true OEM type- basically a "make do"fit.
