HID replacement for BMW lights - GSA

I know the headlight uses an H7 replacement. What about the factory driving lights?

Have there been any noted issues with wiring an HID ballast into the driving light circuit?

The most "noted issue" is that you can actually see with the H.I.D

A standard H7 draws 55 watts,
the H.I.D unit draws 28 watts

Re: HID replacement for BMW lights - GSA

Thanks for your reply. I understand the wattage draw difference of the H7 low beam vs the ballast for the HID replacement.

What I need to know is if, 1)There is an HID replacement for the factory fog/driving lamps on a 2010 GSA and, 2) If a replacement is available, willt he ballast affest the CAN/BUS circuit for the fog/driving lights.

I appologize if I was vague in wording that question.

I converted my BMW foglights to HID and had no issues using the stock foglight switch wired to the HID power.

I am now using the Clearwater lights "Krista's" and no longer need two ballasts and no longer need to think about changing them out either. Light output is quite a bit better then the HID converted foglights, more distance light and side lighting for the twisty's at night. Another point is that they are plug and play with the stock GSA foglight wiring.
