Question Ducati design headlite on 05 LT wiring

I have Ducati design headlight that I took of my totaled 02 LT and I was hoping, that someone put one of those on 05 or newer LT and knows how to wire it.On 02 it was simple replacement and plug and play, but 05 has separate high and low beams.I am taking of tuperware tomorrow to change all the fluids and filters and install and wire some accessories and I want to put in that headlight. Thanks for your advice guys.

It can be done as I have seen them on 05s before. You may just have to get creative with the wiring and slave a relay to the high beam (stock) to drive the Ducati Design high beam.

Thumbs up Re: Ducati design headlite on 05 LT wiring

The light units are no longer available. The maker is dealing with products for the Ducati brand. One post on the web site implied he (they) might be willing to do a special order for a group, but did not say how large a group would be needed to be cost effective.

I have the dual low beam version on my 05, and what a difference it makes for night time driving.

If you contact the site they no doubt could provide wisdom in how to make the conversion for the 05's and newer.

Hella makes the lights in my unit and here is one source I found for them.

The Ducati Design web site is:

http://www.ducatidesigns.com/home

Good luck and please ask them about a group buy if you get in touch with them.

Re: Ducati design headlite on 05 LT wiring

Here is a pic of what the back side looks like, should be simple to hook it up. I pestered Paul (owner of DD) for a year to make them for 05's and when he did I was the tester for them. He said that because there was not enough interest he had to stop making them. But he may be able to provide you with a diagram and a parts list to convert yours. I love mine.

Cool Re: Ducati design headlite on 05 LT wiring

I striped the bike today for oil change, new K&N,new coolant and I wired gps, dual temp.controler,Motolights and I figured out how to make D.D.headlight work just like it did on 02 LT.Only thing is I lost original high beam, which is fine, because D.D.light works way better,so now I am going to make extra running light out of old high beam(maybe yellow).I think, that I will be realy visible with all these lights.I will post some pictures, when its done.

I emailed them a few months ago and asked if they had any spares or partials hanging around the shop, and they said no, and didn't indicate that there was any interest in doing an more. Perhaps a group buy would turn that around. I would love to have one.
