$24.95 DDM HID Lights On Sale $24.95

Just happened to mosey by the DDMTuning website a few minutes ago and they are selling their single bulb systems for $24.95! To convert high and low beams requires 2 kits, an H1 and an H7. Great kits, easy install and now nearly as cheap as replacement halogen lamps.

Thanks, Loren. It's on my shopping list to replace a suspect kit on the GS and I have been procrastinating since early winter.

Which kit did u buy? Is it the Apexcone Raptor Kit, which they show being on sale for $29.95? They have a 35W and a 55W. Also an H1 bulb or an H7. Which would u get if you only wanted to replace the low beam light?

Go to the motorcycle page on their site. The kit you're looking for is the
DDM 35W & 55W Single Motorcycle HID Kit.

For low beam you will need an H7 lamp. I used the 35W kit for low beam and I'm glad I did. I used the 5000* Kelvin kit and I'm happy with the color. I would NOT go any bluer than the 5000*. 4300* K would have allowed my driving light color match my headlight color. My GW buddy says that the difference in color makes the light triangle more noticeable to traffic.

I would NOT use the 55W kit for low beam. I think there would be way too much light produced which would piss off oncoming traffic regardless of how your headlight is aimed. (Loud pipes (bright lights) save lives) Uh huh! And pisses everyone off.
If you haven't ridden an LT yet with HID lights you will be amazed!!! You will notice the reflected light from highway signs in the daylight. They are that bright.

+1 on all your points.

A comment regarding color temperature: I have had 5000K lamps for many years on my bikes and these are slightly bluish. That is another reason I just ordered the DDM kit - I bought the 4300K to make it more compatible with my halogen high beam.

Plus, in the past, I failed New Jersey state inspection for "blue light" - I am hoping that the white 4300K lamp will escape undue attention of the inspector (yes, I know it is not DOT, but I may get lucky - instead of having to temporarily reinstall the OEM halogen lamp once every two years, which I do nowadays).

Re: $24.95 DDM HID Lights On Sale $24.95

Greetings all.

I went the 55W, 5000K low beam kit. And you're right. There is so much light now, I can see it reflecting off street signs. I've adjusted the beam down nicely and I wouldn't change a thing. It was so easy to install and makes a monumental difference.

I went with the DDM kits.

Cheers and kindest regards to all.

Just so nobody gets confused. The bulbs required depend on the year of the bike.

For the '05-Current LTs:

For the Low beam - H7
For the High beam - H11

For PRE-'05 LTs:

For the Low beam - H7
For the High beam - H3

Re: $24.95 DDM HID Lights On Sale $24.95

Purchased the 35W, 5000K from DDM Tuning about a week ago. UPS Tracking indicates they will arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to try my hand at installing it to see the difference it will make. I've owned "The First Lady" for about a month, and this will be my first experience with an upgrade and tupperware. Will rely on this forum to get me through successfully.

I will let everyone know how it goes...

Re: $24.95 DDM HID Lights On Sale $24.95

I was looking at this option, but noticed that all on the thread have '99 thru 2001 LT's.
Anyone installed a low beam unit (35W) into an '05 or later LT?
Just wondering about possible heat problems with-in the low beam headlight unit!

Any thoughts?

Lots of people have installed them in Post '05's without a problem.

See correction above. H3 not an H1.

Darryl, you really don't need to remove the tupperware to convert to HID. Like you, when I did the conversion it was my first farkle install and I was anxious to remove a little tupperware. Besides, I had just received my new Harbor Freight air over hydraulic lift and you know I was anxious to give it a try!

There are threads describing the no tupperware removal method on his forum. search on HID install.

Loren,

Thanks for that advice. I must have missed that post somehow. I've read quite a few on the HID install, but I don't recall the one stating removing tupperware is not necessary. I will do another search.

Could be the regular price. I bought mine about 8 mos ago. Just under $50 delivered with $7.00 postage. Best $50 I ever spent!
