HID Kit Advice...which one?

First, to all who've posted about their experience with HID upgrades, THANK YOU! Being a newbie. this is the first upgrade I'm going to attempt on my 2000 K1200LT. I've seen several different kits mentioned in the posts, and I was wondering if I could get a recommendation of which one would be the easiest for my bike. I'd like to get a 55w ballast if possible, but I'm okay with a 35w if that creates any problems. I really do not want to pull the tupperware (a day will come, but this ain't it), and would prefer something plug an play.

So....if it's not too much to ask, I would really appreciate your suggestions. A kit that has an accompanying post (with photos) is a bonus . TIA!

Re: HID Kit Advice...which one?

I used the DDM motorcycle kit from ddmtuning.com. Very easy install, so far working fine but only had it in for a week, so no long term results. Lifetime warranty, plug and play, and makes a big difference.

Here's a great step by step if you need to remove the tupperware. Makes the job much easier.

Re: HID Kit Advice...which one?

I put in the DDM 55W kit a few months ago, big difference over the stock lighting and seems to be working fine. I installed it without taking any of the tupperware off in less than 2 hrs. If you search for HID you will see the thread titled "8 Attachment(s) HID kit from DDM ( install this weekend)!! " which has some pictures.

Seems like the DDIM kit is the one to use. Just to make certain that I nab the correct kit (for my LOW beam only), I'm looking for the

DDM 35W & 55W Slim Ballast HID Kit (with the 55 watt ballast)

Is that the one everyone has been installing?

Thanks again to all who have responded....I truly appreciate your help!

Re: HID Kit Advice...which one?

As suggested by others on this forum I purchased the 55w H7 bulb 'car' kit which is two of everything, it is about $33 more than the single motorcycle kit. Repalcement bulbs on their site are $30 for a pair. Buying the kit of two gives you a bulb and ballast backup.
