Thumbs up HID LOW Diagnosis

Today my HID low went out. My question is how does one know if the bulb failed or ballast failed ?

I noted today after checking for a failed 25A fuse when removing the fuse with the key off I would see a strobe effect without full light ignition.

The 4300 K bulb was from HID online , I assume that all HID H 7 bulbs are similar and a bulb from CQ could be exchanged if the bulb is the problem.

Thanks for the help.

Re: HID LOW Diagnosis

The only way you're going to find out is to swap out components (process of elimination)
I have had an igniter go out twice now.
Symptom was like yours a flash but no light.
They're pretty cheap now, just buy another setup.

Re: HID LOW Diagnosis

Since you have a setup from HID-Online I suspect it is a few years old, as was mine on my 99LT.
+1 on what Hans said, new units are now cheap ($70 vs.$300 for the HID-Online) so knock yourself out and get a new setup. I have a spare igniter and a spare capsule (H11 for an 05 LT) that can be used for troubleshooting/replacing.
