Nose Cone Removal Help

Well my previous problem w/ the HID has now developed into a more serious deal. No lights period. Was moving the LT in the garage readying for a ride and noticed Hi beam light on. Got off while running and no lights whatsoever Hi or LO. This is with stock bulbs as awaiting CQ harness replacement. Tried various means to troubleshoot such as fuse, wiggle for loose connection, etc. and checked Voltage. No power. Question 1. Running light in Headlight assembly still works, separate ground source?? Question 2. Sounds to me based upon previous reponses that ground is most likely source. This means Cone removal? Any way to get to source otherwise? Clymer not real helpful. Any links here with instructions?

Thanks to all in advance

Re: Nose Cone Removal Help

I bet the ground connection in the headlight has failed. Both bulbs use the same ground wire which has a propensity to overheat, corrode, and fail. The fix isn't too hard, reroute the grounds, but getting the nose cone off is time consuming. You can probably do it with the nose cone in place, but you'll need small hands, and good light.

The instructions are well documented here on the site.
