PR4 Ridged Tire Wear

I have 1300 miles on a new set of Michelin PR4'S and have developed 2 mm high ridges on the front side of the sipes. These are not the GT version but the standard. I Ave run several sets of PR3's and never had any problems. Bike is a 2013 k1600gt Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: PR4 Ridged Tire Wear

The PR4's are so new that there is very little "Real Life" experience with them yet.
Over on the K1600Forum there is a little more info on them.

Re: PR4 Ridged Tire Wear

I have a set of PR4 GTs on my 2008 RT that have 2400 miles on them and they are fine. Most of this riding was interstate on a trip.

Tire pressure 40 front and 42 rear.

Re: PR4 Ridged Tire Wear

Got the PR4 GT version at Scottsdale Go Az. My Z8s were destroyed on the trip out there with only 3336 miles on them. Put 2500 miles on the PR4 GTs and they still look new. They also over inflated them a bit in Summer Phoenix. I let out about 2 psi in the front. By the time I got back to springtime Ohio they were 42 front and 44 rear. I think I'll try and keep them at 44 and see how that works.

Thumbs up Michelin PR4-GT tires-Update

Just to bump this pertinent thread;
I initially got a measly 5100 miles on the rear Metzler.
Switched to Michelin PR4-GT.
Going on 7,000 miles on the rear tires and 6,000 on the front.
They still look very good should get a safe additional 3,000 miles out of the rear and more from the front. Very pleased with their performance.
PSI at 42, 42 two up riding 95% of time.
