BMW Master Technician Response to Pulling to Left

I posed the question to my dealer about the pulling to the left or right on the GT/GTL and here's the response from a very good technician that I trust:

So they all have a tendency to pull to the right or left depending on which side the drive shaft is on but you don't notice it over 40 miles an hour. It also depends on the air pressure. However, I've never noticed any pull on my LT nor heard of it as an issue with other LT's (or other beemers for that matter). Dunno. I'd hate to pick mine up and find it to be an issue that I have to deal with for the life of the bike (or me for that matter).

I am not going to argue with a BMW Master Tech, but a motorcycle is an articulated two wheeled vehicle. Without going into a lot of details lets just say the rear wheel "wants" to track in line with the front. If you intentionally design a motorcyle with off set front and rear wheels you are asking for a world of trouble. Both tires are going to want to find their own track so to speak. Imagine if you will driving over a bridge that has a metal grate for a platform except you are doing it all the time on a motorcycle with off set wheels. Draw your own conclusions.....

Aren't all motorcycle drives offset from the center line be it chain, belt, or shaft? It'd be interesting if they weren't.
I must be reading it wrong, doesn't make sense.

Alright guys we've discussed this quite a few times,
with lots of in depth analysis and "testimonies" from the "so-called" experts
and the end result is always the same,

we all end up drawing our own conclusions and theories,
from the canter of the road to weight in the saddlebags,

my LT also pulls to the left as has every bike I've ever owned,

the reason for it is a simple biological fact,
with most human males one of our testicles is usually bigger than the other
and therefore the bike will tend to lean and pull in that direction.

So "there you have it" another problem solved, glad I could help!

Grooaaannnnn..........barely 15 minutes passes and I get hit "below the belt" by one of my "buddies"

Pretty good shot though I certainly left the "door open" for that one,
I imagine Frank is probably pissed you beat him to it.

I have two LT's one tracks perfectly straight & the other tracks a little to the left. Look ma no hands on the bars.

Of the four BMW's I have. The R1200CLC is the only one that pulls.. To the right..

If I put all my tools in the left saddle bag, It pretty much cancells it out...

If I ever drive it enough to take the rear wheel back off. I'll try an additional spacer and see if that makes it better or worse...

My 03 CLC also pulled to the right, 04 not so much, but did not have enough lead in its pencil. Had problems keeping her up!!!!!!!!!!
