Re: new owner

Congrats Lenny. Mine just arrived in my garage on Saturday after dreaming about it most of last year. I live in Annapolis Maryland so like you, the anticipation is going to be felt for another few months to fully enjoy our new ride. I outfitted mine with the permanent Gerbing dual controller installation in the fairing and have the full electric suit - I plan to ride all winter. But still, there's something about heading out for a romp on a 70 degree day that says "all's right with the world."

Re: new owner

Congrats on the new ride. A word of caution the K1600 is addictive. You might want let partner & friends know unless they ride the will see very little of you. Every chance you get you'll be riding. Go to the store for an errand and be gone for hours and put 120+ miles on her. But, you'll come back with a big grin. BTW - it only gets worse the longer you own it. I love this bike more today then when I first got it.

Re: new owner

when did you get that 12 Doug? congrats!

I just got back to MI after the long wekend in AZ. we took the cage up to sedona and all. Made me think about 2-up biking again. Been talking to the wife about it. I'm not sure I'm ready to give it up just yet.

Talked to scottsdale already, they'll take a trade on my K1300S if I decide to go with the GTL. we'll evaluate the situation after I retire the end of march. We stopped out there a couple months ago and sat on a GTL. If we ride 2up, it will be the GTL, just like the K1200LTC (RIP) she picked out in 2002

otherwise I luv my KS and plan to keep it for my transpo if we don't ride 2up anymore.

And congrats to you Lenny, I'm sure you will enjoy the bike if you ever see pavement again LOL...I'm not used to this winter stuff!!

Re: new owner

m,k=Just got my new 1600 GTL. Called the dealer and asked if they had a GTL with all the bells and whistles..."yes", went in the next day and bought it. My God, what a fantastic bike. I realize those of you who already have yours know what I'm talking about but as Dan said, it is what I always thought a motorcycle shoudl be. I can't say enough good things about it. I look for excuses to go riding and if I can't find one, I go anyway. Currently on a trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco and return. All I want to do is jump on this bike and ride it. Yes, a certain amount of temperance is called for, some quiet reflection on the realities of life and keeping things in perspective. But i just love riding this new bike of mine. Sorry but I just had to say this. :
