Re: K1600gtl

Someone just pointed out to me that the same seller has two other bikes for sale... maybe he is doing consignment sales off-the-books or maybe he has a $75,000 bike habit and his wife figured it out.

In any case... that's low miles and a surprise to me.

Re: K1600gtl

I have seen a few at the local dealerships around the Phoenix area. One of the salesmen told me that some of the owners overestimated their ability to deal with a heavy bike and just couldn't deal with the weight at low speeds. So they either trade them in or put them on consignment.

Re: K1600gtl

Me thinks there is more to this one than meets the eye! Three pretty expensive bikes, all heavyweights, up for sale at the same time!? Either he wants to buy some other expensive toy or he is under a bit perhaps.

Wow, not too sure!! However, I can tell you, if my bike didn't just come in last month at the Go AZ Motorcycles, I would be on this bike in a heartbeat. I paid 32k out the door. yikes! I'm texting a friend momentarily. He happens to have the bike in Blue on order in Utah. Is this for real and still available??

"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." Just a thought!

Coming from 30+ years of riding and X00,000 miles, (50,000 on an LT) the K1600GTL was different and I had serious misgivings as to the initial purchase and even after 1,000 miles of riding I was not happy. I loved a lot of thing about the bike, but my riding ability sucked! The ride was not smooth and decelerating was rough. It was, for me, way too sensitive and I felt like I had made an expensive mistake.

2,000 more miles and I love the bike. I was patient enough to learn how to ride her and have never been on a bike that handled this efficiently or now as smoothly. Acceleration just keeps on and she just wants to twist and turn.

Bottom line: It would not surprise me that someone has given up and or just could not grasp the uniqueness (for me) of this machine. I can see someone selling, BUT not for a $10,000 discount.

At first I found the throttle response to be too extreme. When I would let off of the throttle the bike would nose dive severely. I found that the throttle was set to Dynamic. Changing it to Normal made the bike more enjoyable. After a firmware upgrade, I was able to put it into Dynamic mode again and not suffer the nose diving. Possibly could also be that I got use to the bike by time the firmware came out.

I don't think he's asking enough to make anywhere near his original investment back.

Re: K1600gtl

Something similar was in the paper a few years back... The bikes where almost new, low mile, etc. Come to find out the bikes had water damage from a small flood.

Saltwater "May" have gotten in the exhaust pipe...
SO, the bikes had no warranty and they had a salvage titles... Buyer Beware.
