Re: 1600 trailer hitch

Yes. I donated my bike for the initial prototype. They were supposed to make one and install it for me before my October trip. Two months passed and they never called. I left three messages before they ever did, and by then my trip had already been scrubbed because I didn't have a way to pull my Bushtec trailer and it was late October or early November by then. VERY POOR customer service. IIRC, the very same thing happened to me when I tried to buy a hitch from them for my LT several years ago.

I live only 35 or so miles from the factory, but I will buy a Dauntless hitch for my trip next year. I love the Bushtec trailer and don't think there's a better trailer on the market, but their customer service just plain blows. The Dauntless hitch I put on my LT was very well made and never gave me any issues. Sorry Bushtec, but you've pooped in your mess kit with me.

12 K1600GTL (Johnny 5) 3,500. A great compromise between the LT and GT

Re: 1600 trailer hitch

I'm very new to towing with a motorcycle. When at the Falling Leaf rally last October, I saw a DMC hitch installed on a GTL.

I looked that thing up and down for a couple days. Also looked at several other hitches on non K1600 bikes. After all that, the DMC hitch really impressed me.

I'm sure others are also very good, just thought I'd try the DMC so I ordered one as soon as I got home.

It arrived 4 days after I ordered it. Install was very straight forward and went smoothly. The wiring was the most difficult part, but not that bad.

This thing is very stout, you can remove the tire without any interference from the hitch and it's invisible when not in use.

YMMV, but I really like it for towing my Aluma trailer.
