Bluetooth question

The comm gear for my C3 arrived from the States. Got everything installed by the local dealer and tested on their bike. Got home and went into the menus to pair the helmet and bike. No luck. BT Pairing is not an option under Settings -> Audio.

Drove back to the dealership. They were stumped by the missing option. They verified the loudspeaker was set to off, turned the bike off and on, with no luck. The option should have been there after Sirius.

Anyone else seen this behavior?

Re: Bluetooth question

Note this passage from the Audio Manual:

"If the Bluetooth function is not
available in a particular country,
only audio playback via the
speakers is available."

Perhaps your audio unit was programmed for use in another country and then installed in your K16?

Re: Bluetooth question

I had my bike into the Dealer to have the service reminder turned off ( I did service myself) When I got the bike back I no longer had Sirius Radio. The the tech said it was a "glitch" in the software & they will have to hook the bike back up & reset everything. Have not had time to get it done but will when ever my new water pump comes in & they install it. So it just may be a simple soft ware glitch for you also.

Re: Bluetooth question

I hope it is a software glitch.

Being in a different country with a US spec bike, I accept the fact that somethings will be a little bit harder. The dealership here explained their computer when connected to my bike makes a call back to Germany. Using the bike's ID, Germany knows it is a US bike and pushes the correct software. I wish I could just connect my laptop and look for myself. It irritates me that manufactures put these artificial need to go to the dealer.

For now, I just paired my helmet to my phone so I at least get some music.

Re: Bluetooth question

Update:
Finally have bluetooth working. After talking with the German dealership that I purchased the bike from, they discovered the factory had a "mis-build" on my bike and bluetooth was not activated.
German dealer spoke with England dealer to figure out how to get the repair done under warranty. England wanted to charge £95 to activate it as that would be their cost from BMW UK. The two dealerships got their respective BMW country reps to figure it out. Only took three months.
It is a nice experience to be able to adjust the volume with the wheel and change songs. Now I just need to figure out how to increase the volume on the gps. It is too low even when the radio is automatically turned down when a gps voice prompt comes on. I can just barely hear the instructions.
