Re: fuel mileage / mpg

Like any other bike it all depends on the rider. I am averaging about 43 MPG over the life of the bike (+- 6000 miles) I had a high of 51 riding in Colorado & Idaho (higher elevation). On my trip from Boise to Austin a few weeks ago I averaged 48 (1700 miles mostly highway using cruise control).

I'm averaging about 38 mpg, running between 70 and 80 mph on the highway.

Re: fuel mileage / mpg

When Garry (GTL) and I (LT) ride together we use the exact amount of fuel.
The GTL can go a bit further on a tank, maybe 50 miles.

Re: fuel mileage / mpg

5,500 miles thus far, and I've averaged precisely 37.1mpg with a high of 43.9 (all highway, still breaking her in so lower speeds).

'bout the same as I got with my Harley Ultra Classic, but considering I run her hard I'm not complaining.

Around town I'm getting 45. On the recent Colorado trip I got 50-52 in the mountains.

Running reliably in the mid-40s and have seen 50 when I'm riding to enjoy my surroundings. Totally happy with mpg!

Re: fuel mileage / mpg

Eight day, 2000+ mile trip through the backroad twisties of Northern California with 3 other K1600GTs running very fast; a lot of hard acceleration and braking. I averaged 42mph for the trip. I'm 175 (185 with suit/boots) with an additional ~40lb (total) in the side cases.

Re: fuel mileage / mpg

So what I am seeing from the posts the fuel mileage is very similar to the LT. Low 40's in the lower altitudes and Higher 40's to low 50's in the mountains. Higher altitude causing the computer to lean out the mixture thus providing better mileage. All of that with a lighter bike and more horsepower, not bad.

Re: fuel mileage / mpg

I've got a US spec K1600GTL that I am riding in England. I am getting 43.5mpg according to the computer. Only have 350 miles on it.
