Keeping wife happy

When we sat on the GTL at the NY IMS my wife called over the BMWNA rep and told him she could tell him in either English or German (she was born in Stuttgart) how dumb BMW was for designing a touring bike without the option of floorboards for the passenger. So I bought one of these;

I had a local machinist modify the mount and weld it to a mount he made to fit the original mounting slot in the frame and wife is happy, therefore, I am happy.

Re: Keeping wife happy

My first impressions was, "Floorboards? On a sport-tourer? You're kidding, right?" But they do seem to fit, they don't add any chrome, and if they accomplish their mission (comfort for the missus), then well done!

Re: Keeping wife happy

I did the same thing on my '06 RT and she was not going to accept less on the GTL. As you said if it makes her happy it is well worth it.

That was my exact thought - but I agree, they're really well done. As a former Kuryakyn customer from my Harley days I like some of their products and I find others borderline ridiculous (some of the chrome doodads they come up with for cruisers). These look really good. Not sure that I would add them to my GTL, but they really aren't bad.
