Question iPhone3 & K1600 System

I've been working with all the new bluetooth issues on my bike and have found that everything seems to work OK except my iPod part of my iPhone3. When I plug my iPhone3 into the adapter cable the bike system finds my iPhone and will play my iPod music. The problem is when I take off on a ride I can get no more than 5 miles and the system looses the iPhone connection and displays "No iPOD". Upon inspection, all the connections are intact and the phone is not hot from engine heat. Once I remove the phone and re-connect the system finds the iPOD again? I set my phone as described in the manual with the Equalizer off and the Volume Limit on. I have no such problems when my iPhone is connected to my 335d BMW car? Anyone else experience this issue?

This is a common problem have your dealer make a service request to BMW for assistance. The more of us who do this the quicker we will get a fix.

Guess I'll have to formally do this! I thought it was just my system? I've mentioned it to the counter guy who does the bluetooth helmet install/pairings and he just gives me a "Hmmm" response. I've had so many things up in the air with the bike preparing for CCR and my follow-on vacation that this was a low priority. I was considering trying a USB memory stick or loading my music on the Navigator IV flash memory card? I really don't care if my phone works through the system as I discovered a phone call to be very annoying while riding. I had initally set up my LT to be able to answer my phone through my AutoComm but subsequently removed it. Thanks for the insight.

I have gone with a rugidized memory stick for my music and can link the I-phone through the Nav 4.

Re: iPhone3 & K1600 System

I saw on the BMW facebook page that there is a software update to fix this problem - check with your dealer's service department.

there is also an update for the throttle control - don't know anything about what this one is supposed to fix
