Here's a GT seat on a GTL - pic

Did a swap with CGameProgrammer - his low GT seat with my low GTL seat. Here's the gap between the pillon and the rack on the GTL. This view from above.

How about a picture of the whole seat. Maybe from a few feet back?

The small gap looks fine. Why did you do the swap and what was involved?

Re: Here's a GT seat on a GTL - pic

Dan,
I swapped out because with a 33+ inseam, it was a little cramped with the GTL low seat that came with the bike. I loved having such sure footing when stop and go, but though the low GT seat might give me a bit more room but still allowing me sure footing. I no doubt will end up with an aftermarket seat, but would like to figure out what the best hight is for me before that happens. Since the dealers don't have spare seats for me to try, I thought this would be a good way for me to figure out the right height for me. Haven't done anything more than just sit on it - it's been 105-115 degrees here so haven't been doing much riding...

The seat looks great..

My inseam is 30" probably a little more with the boots on and my legs feel cramped. With yours at 33, I can see the need for more room. I'd like to be able to just lower the pegs, but I'm afraid that they would really drag the ground.

Any thought to sliding the seat back a few inches. Take the room from the passenger's seat behind you. I keep pushing up against the back of the seat and it seems that an inch or two might make a big difference and keep the seat the same height.

Just thinking,,,

Re: Here's a GT seat on a GTL - pic

WoW... That's what I was looking for. I'm going to have to order a set and give them a try. Might just be all that I need. I had the same on my K1200LT and the 1 1/2" was all that it took.

Do you know of anyone who has tried them?

It seems that I recall that the brake and shifter are adjustable and that would also help if the pegs are lowered. Not sure...

The shifter is very easy to adjust 2 ways. First the toe part is on a "Cam " & can be turned. Loosen the set screw on the bottom then just spin it. You can get about 1/4 inch adjustment. You can also remove the linkage from the shifter & adjust the rod. I had to adjust mine up about 3/4 inch to get by boot under the shifter. You may not need to adjust the brake as mine is already a little low.

Thanks - That's the information I was looking for.... Going to order it tonight. Next week I'll start to figure out the communication system. I'm hoping to get the BlueTooth to work, but if it's going to be lacking, than I might just go ahead and run wires to my helmet.

If your NOT using the BMW bluetooth with the Schubert (Spelling?) you would be better off Hard wiring into the Audio.
