6 Cylinder night - 18 of november - Milan - Italy

We, as KOG, has been invited to this event held in Milan next thursday.

During this event BMW will introduce us the new K1600GT and GTL and there will be marketing, commercial and tech men from BMW that will answer all our questions. I hope someone will tell us about the price. The first GT and GTL will be available at mid march but I think that I'll be able to try the GTL at about end of february or first days or march for a weekend long ride. In that case I'll post all the pics and observations on our site.

If I'll discover something more thursday I'll let you know...

Great !

Take someone along for the ride (if you can) to get their opinion as a passenger.

Please tell us when you have some news and ride review. A link to your site when you ride it would be great. Grazie!

Re: 6 Cylinder night - 18 of november - Milan - Italy

So basically no news. I've talked with David Robb (BMW VP of motorrad design) that explained us the ins and out of the design about ergonomics and aerodynamics. The GTL will protect the driver more than the KLT but it also tell me that all the skeptics will love the bike after a test drive. Many of his design choices will be accepted in the near future also if now there are many of us that don't like them. There are no doubts that this man know his works and I've to admit that I like the GTL also if it's so different from the KLT. In a couple of weeks we'll know the price and I think I'll be able to test drive the GTL at the end of february or first days of march 2011. The bike showed in this events are the same bikes showed in Cologne and in Milan and are the only two bikes built by now...

I've not posted any pic since there are the two bike on display but these are the same bikes seen at INtermot in Cologne and at EICMA in Milan...

Re: 6 Cylinder night - 18 of november - Milan - Italy

Thanks Andrea for the report.

Apparently I didn't miss anything important, except maybe an interesting meeting with David Robb.... In fact, I have been personally invited to' the 6-cyl night, too, but during the way from my workplace and the meeting point I've been stuck in traffic, because of the flooding that was involving the Northern area of Milan last Thursday.

You can imagine how angry I was when - at 20:30 - I decided to head my CAR towards home because with 1:30h of delay I was not yet even in sight of the destination :-(

NeXT time I take my bike, regardless of the flooding!!

Since the meeting was for the 18th of November I believe it's a little late for invites.

Andrea,

Did you happen to ask David Robb why they still used a key on the new bike when keyless technology is used on other bikes and many cars?

Some of our friends leaved Saronno at 18.30 and, due to the traffic, arrived at Trussardi at about 20.45. The traffic that day was terrible...
