Re: 1600 GTL video--observation

unless the driver is a shorter guy and the passenger is a taller lady, I'm wondering if the pillion seating set-up is going to create some issues--i.e. because the passenger (in the video at least) seems to be sitting so "high" in comparison to the driver, is the passenger gonna' be blasted with a lot of wind turbulence? And is that going to create some interesting center of gravity/top-heavy issues?

Seems BMW has retained the "K-Whine". Sounds like a large vacuum cleaner as it whizzes by.

Even still ... can't wait to see it in person.

If you look at the pics in a couple of the releases, an Akropovic exhaust appears to be an option--something tells me THAT one doesn't have the same sound...wink

Damn I've been thrown into a wicked depression today, knowing this is one toy I ain't gonna' put my hands on for a long, long time!

Re: 1600 GTL video

As cool as that adaptive headlight is, at least in this video the visibility of that bike head on in the bright sunshine ain't great. I'd want the optional driving lights installed an on too. Also, I hope the US spec models leave the front LED yellow running lights on all the time too.

Yep. And the chrome trim covers over the windscreen motor arms look like angry eyebrows. Funny.

Ditto on both points, the sound is a bit disappointing from the video, I would have expected a much louder and deeper sound from a 6-cylinder

But I'm longing to see, hear and ride one!!!

Re: 1600 GTL video

Looking at the other video's and stills of the GTL the rear seat looks to be about 5 -6 inches higher then the front/driver's seat. That may put the passenger above the helmet of the driver and will allow good forward viewing instead of side or looking around the helmet, which can also cause wind noise and buffeting on the passenger helmet. I would think that the Driver helmet would throw the wind high enough to go over the passenger's helmet thus reducing the effects of the wind.

Re: 1600 GTL video

In one of the still pictures it looked like the center hole in the exhaust was darker than the rest. I sure hope that all three holes in the exhaust are active and not just the center hole. I would hate it if the other two were fake blanks.

Re: 1600 GTL video

I like it. As far as the trunk looking ugly. If I had one the trunk would only be one when riding two up. And the vids on the two up look great.
