Re: BMW Motorrad site is active now

You would think they could offer some real specs by now instead of just saying it is light and has good fuel mileage.

All the specs are on the bmw press club on one of the other K1600 links on this site.
Weight GTL is 348Kg - 767Lbs GT 319Kg - 703Lbs.
The GTL holds right at 7 gallons & the gt was about a gallon less.

Re: BMW Motorrad site is active now

Re the price; if they really believed they could/would sell a few thousand every year the price might be reasonable. Wont happen that way. So my guess is it's going to be north of $25K. Look at the add-ons they list. Bet most bikes come with most of the add ons, which will up the price to around $30K. Someone was worried about the LT dropping in price when the 1600 came out. My guess that's going to prove correct. There will be a lot of LT owners who want to get a 1600 and have to sell their LT to make the down payment.

Re: BMW Motorrad site is active now

Perhaps I'm being too optimistic, but a K1300GT with premium pkg lists out at $22,595 and an K1200LT is $21,700, I'm thinking the K1600 GT/GTL will be $24-$26k.

But then again, I was hoping that there would have been a bit more weight savings - but I guess less tupperware and no electro-hydro center stand only gives you so much.
