Release party and the data is out

Speculation is over (except for price).

Some numbers for the K1600GTL that I found interesting.

Weight <770lbs with panniers and topcase + 90% fuel (348kg)
(fuel and top case is approx 0.9*26.5*0.74 + 8kg = 25 kg / 55lbs).

Fuel capacity is 26.5l (7 gallons/US liquid)

0-62mph: 3.4s

4.6l/100km (=51mpg) at 90km/h (=56mph)
5.9l/100km (=40mpg) at 120km/h (=75mph)

16 ECUs are on the motorcycle. That means a very advanced system electronics architecture. Let us hope they get it right.

Mine will be royal blue. And I will keep the K1200R for those faster runs.

This pic tells much: the GT and the GTL are basically the same bike, only the seat and the top case seem to be different, maybe the handlebar:

'12 R 1200 RT
'06 K 1200 LT (sold)
'05 Cagiva Navigator 1000 (sold)
'90 Kawasaki ZX10 (sold)
'82 Moto Guzzi V35 II (sold)
'82 Benelli Export 3V

Windscreen and foot-pegs are different too.
Probably other stuff too.

I wish I could think of clever things to say in my signature.

Re: Release party and the data is out

The only basically permanent difference between the GTL and the GT is the GTL's fuel tank is 0.6 gallons larger and its handlebars are further back and possibly slightly higher. I'm guessing the GT's more forward/lower handlebars would be obstructed by the GTL's tank, since that seems to be the only reasonable explanation for the fuel tank difference.

In addition the GT comes in gray or red, while the GTL comes in white or dark blue, with various chrome and "magnesium" trim.

Other than that, the GTL simply comes stock with various things that are options on the GT, such as the low seat, low pegs, taller windscreen, radio, top-case, and others.
