2015 K1600GTL -- Cannot Start -- No Display

This is embarrassing. Last Fall, I ended up in the hospital and the bike has sat idle until now. I thought last Saturday that I would see if I could handle a short ride -- I am still not 100%, but feeling much better. Well I donned all my gear, hopped on the bike, hit the center ON button, and NOTHING!!! No display, no lights, nothing. Then, I noticed that when I hit the ON button that a little red light flickered in the center of the display and then went out.

I thought that maybe my battery was too low, so I connected a BMW charger and it quickly said I had 80% charge, so I tried again. Still no joy. After a while, I was back to 100% charge, so I tried again -- same result, only a short flickering red light.

One other piece of "evidence" -- I also noticed that when I hit the central lock, the red light also flickered.

I keep thinking that there must be some "reset" or something.

Before I have the bike towed to the dealer (I would much rather RIDE the bike to the dealer for the annual service), does anyone have any suggestions for what might have gone wrong and how I might get things functioning again.

Your assistance will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Uh, your key fob's battery is dead or not near your bike.

Tim, Thank you. That looks like it will be the answer. I will replace battery and give it a try. Thanks again.
