There is a YouTube video on the construction of the K1600 that lasts about 30 minutes. It's in German but interesting to watch the automation and how it all comes together..

Very interesting article. Thanks for posting the reference. I did not realize that BMW was outsourcing their engine design. I knew they were using Rotax engines, but this is a little different. It says they still do final refinement and engine controls in-house. If they would now outsource that to Kawasaki or Yamaha, they would truly have a complete package.
