K1600 GT

I'm looking at buying a used 2014 K1600 GT with 2K on it. What would be a good price to pay for that bike, and what issues do those have if any? I know some earlier ones had water pump issues among other things, so hopefully they have those things ironed out by now. Any problems with final drives on these, which seems to be a problem BMW had a hard time licking?

2014 is a good year. No issues with mine.

Re: K1600 GT

Only issues that may be there are the 2 switch clusters on the handlebars. The earlier production bike (very few 2014) were bad. BMW did a recall to have all of them changed.

No FD bearing failures have been reported that I know of but there have been a hand full (3 or 4) of rear seals starting to leak.

Here is what NADA shows for price.

Re: K1600 GT

K1600 GT here! Love that bike. No problems here. Have you taken one out for a ride? I was more than happy with my 1200Rt until I rode the k1600. No bike is perfect. Some worse than others. After the test ride I realized the risk was worth the amount of pleasure I would get from that bike. And it has! Good luck!

Re: K1600 GT

Went out and got one yesterday from my local dealer. A real gently used 2014 model with only 2K on it for $20K. Love it so far. I was torn between getting that or a new GS Adventure, but I do mostly highway riding anyway, plus the GS was more and did not have any luggage which would have cost a bunch more. Plus a big buying feature for me was the adaptive headlight, which is only available on these K bikes. I wonder if they will ever put that on their other bikes?
