Talking Zumo mount

Hey all;

I'm will be buying the new GTL soon. couple questions.
I have had a ZUMO 550 for years and works great.
Is it really worth it to get the NAV5 or just mount my 550?
I really like the XM radio on the screen. I know its part of the GTL now.
What mount can I use for the 550?
I have two mounts (RAM) that i use on LT and my GS.
Thoughts.

45 years riding and still more places to see.

Re: Zumo mount

If I was spending $25,000 on a new bike I think I would cough up a few more $$ for the Nav V or IV. The Nav becomes part of your dash and has a very integrated look.

The Zumo can also be installed in the dash.
I've seen someone who had it done.

If you can park it, and not turn around to admire it before walking away, you bought the wrong one.

Yes the Zumo 660 would but the 550 which the OP has is in a different shaped case so I wouldn't think it would.

You could be right. I don't know which one the guy had, but I think it's worth asking the dealer if it can be installed before buying a new one...

Re: Zumo mount

If you are a serious GPS user, I would keep what you have and install it on a ram mount where it can be easily seen.

I am a casual user and went with the 660 installed in the dash, but it is hard to see, most of the time!

Re: Zumo mount

I have the 550 and like it, but it does have a small screen so mounting it close to you on the bars helps, unless you have the eyesight of a hawk, I don't think dash mounting would be your best option.
