Cool Exclusive windscreen

Hi;

I have sold my CVO and ordered a 2015 exclusive. Will I need to order a aero screen and aero mini wings for wind buffering? Are the stock crash bars ok or will I need to upgrade them? I plan on adding a trunk rack, highway pegs and crash bars at saddle bags.

Any other suggestions would be appreciate, because this is first bike that has not been a Harley in 30 years!

Most people have changed the screens & added the wings. I have the Aeroflow tall GTL screen & both sets of wings. A few find the stock setup OK. The stock BMW engine guards work good but you will have limited highway pegs available that work with the stock bars. Be careful on the top case rack mounting as the radio antenna in inside the top case lid.

Hi,
I installed a trunk rack on my GTLE,
Was not to bad just have to take trunk top apart and lineup rack,
Drill top then reinstall over inner shell mark and drill.
Mine was close to the antenna but was ok!
Illium works has great items for the GTLE highway pegs,pass. Boards
And factory crash bars are fine but not sure why you need crash bars on the bags??
These GTLE are very nimble!!!!!
Just don't drop it.

As I said in the other thread, do nothing other than ride for a thousand miles. Then, if you feel you need something, add it.

There's no Harley tax on this bike, so you don't need to worry about a Stage 1 or anything like that. I didn't care for the stock windshield, so after a few hundred miles I ordered a Medium GT Aeroflow. That works perfectly fine for my wife and I, which is good as I think the add-on wings look horrible.

I didn't care for the seat and wanted to sit higher, so I picked up a GT seat from Ebay.

I didn't care for the tiny grips, so I picked up the foam covers.

The GTL doesn't come with engine bars, so I added them, along with highway pegs.

And my wife overpacks, so I bought a luggage rack.



Point being, that's what I needed on this bike. It might not be what you need. Put a thousand miles on it. Do a day trip. Then figure out where you need to spend your money, or if you need to.

I purchased an Exclusive and did 15,000 it this summer.

Yes the wind screen is lacking,
Yes it needs a new seat

The wind screen is no issue, i.e. easy to fix.

The seat, hmmm. No one can match the color and I can not locate a pan. I would like to keep my GTL-E seat in tack.

I changed the engine protection bars to Wunderlich.
Now that I have done some research????

The real consensus appears to be "that none of the solutions will protect the bike in anything more than a zero MPH crash." It is a 4-500 dollar investment in something they has limited assurances. I am not going to take the bars off but I would not invest in them again.

That depends on what you mean by "protect the bike."

My '12 GTL was put down at interstate speeds, slid on the Wundelrich bars quite a long way, and remained rideable afterwards. Sure, there was body damage, but I've also seen much slower drops scrape the engine or break off a mounting boss that instantly totaled the bike.

These aren't GS-style bikes that are expected to be dropped on occasion and just ride away with zero visible damage. And bodywork is much easier to paint/replace than an engine casing . . .
