1600GTL gear whine

Some time back I posted a thread on 1600 GTL gear whine noise. I want to let everyone know that I switched motor oil to Ams oil 10W-40. Believe it or not, I am sure the noise subsided quite a bit, however did not completely quit. I only hear the noise now at about 60 m/hr, and not as loud. Above and below that speed, the whine noise is minor. At 75 m/hr and above there is no whine noise at all, and NO, it is not wind noise dampening it out. It just is not there. Also, I put Ams severe gear 75 w-90 oil in the final drive. I believe this further reduced the whine noise. Maybe I am dreaming, but that is my experience.

Just thought I would post my experience.
