Removing the tailight...help me

Hello there folks. New to the GTL and no Klymer manual yet.

How the heck do I remove the tail light to get at the wiring to hook up Hyper lights.

Hi Keith. I have a GTL, and haven't removed the tail light yet, so I can't offer advice, and I don't have my bike with me now to look. You might find help via a search at another K1600GT/GTL specific site: www.k1600forum.com

Read this thread over at K1600forum.com to get details of the taillight wiring under the right rear side body panel (nicknamed the "canoe" due to its shape).

Specifically, Post #9 gives details of the wire colors.

I used that location to hook up an isolator for trailer wiring and it was pretty easy. I also suggest using Posi-Tap connectors for a simple and clean install.
