Key off

I have the Harbor Freight lift with their wheel chock added. Because of this I can't turn the wheel fully to get key out. It looks like everything is off. Am I good with that??

Re: Key off

On my 2003 I don't have to turn the key to lock to get the key out. Just to off and it comes right out. I have done this while it is on the lift to unlock the bags many times. I do not know if the newer ones are different.

Re: Key off

No problems leaving the key in the ignition when on the lift with wheel locked in vice.
No instrument lights on I presume.
Is it a secure location ?

Re: Key off

Yes everything is off. Secure. I always leave the key in it with alarm on. It's just I couldn't turn it all the way to shut off to take key out if I wanted to. Well i just armed the alarm so I guess it's ok. Thanks for responses.

Re: Key off

I never took the key out of my LT when it was parked in my garage. I did not lock the wheel to either side, just turned off the key. I do the same with my RT.

Re: Key off

Leave the key in and turn as far as it will go. This opens all the loads just like you had the forks locked. This is how I do it when trailering the LT. Of course I pull the key when stopped for food or the night.
