SBS pads

I went to the local bmw dealer today to buy the BMW front brake pads. They were out of stock and recomended the SBS sintered pads p/n SBS788HS. I have searched here looking for info on these pads to no avail. Most searches come up with the ceramic SBS pads for the rear. Has anyone used the SBS sintered pads up front? How did you like them? Or should I take them back and order the BMW pads?

Brian,
A number of people are using EBC sintered brake pads. I installed mine several weeks ago and am quite happy with their performance. They are also significantly cheaper than the stock BMW part.

The EBC part number for the front pads is FA294HH. I ordered mine from motorcycleproshop.com. Two sets were $62.06 delivered. Hope this helps.

Thanks Alan,
I have read about the EBC brakes but I can not recall people using the SBS fronts. So, Anyone have them up front?

I put a set of SBS pads on the front and rear around 3000 miles ago. So far so good. No problems with stopping the bike but they sound different when they grab the rotor. No, it's not the customary squeal as with the stock pads, more of a rubbing sound when applied. Weird.

I put SBS pads on the front of my Ninja. They work fine...but they didn't appear as beefy as EBC pads. I don't think they're going to last as long.

Thanks for the input gents. I know we use the ebc's on the rear, But I didn't think people liked them as well as bmw pads for the front. Your right about the SBS's not being very beefy. Maybe I should bring them back and order the stock pads.
