Another clutch question.

So had clutch and leaking slave cylinder replaced last year, $1700 thank you very much, at my local BMW dealership. On the way to work this week noticed clutch lever getting spongy and fluid level is down to the bottom of the window on master cylinder. Could this be slave cylinder leaking again? I can see no sign of fluid anywhere, where in particular should I check? Should I even ride it if fluid contaminates the plate.
If this means another expensive rebuild I am going to be another ex LT owner, plus V pissed off at westside motorsports.

Thanks

Robert

Sounds like a leak. I was thinking that repairs done by a dealer had a 24 month warranty. I would call your dealer and inquire.

Re: Another clutch question.

If the level changes normally then it will go up, not down so yes you have a leak. Could be slave could be hose, best to get it checked.

Re: Another clutch question.

I had issues with my new slave after dealer repaired. It went back in and they put a new slave on with a couple of other seals that they said were leaking. They fixed it on their dollar. Take it back.

Re: Another clutch question.

That does not sound good. If I were in your shoes, I would haul it to the dealer, not ride it in the hope that the clutch disc is not yet contaminated.

Did they drill a weep hole? If so, that probably saved the disc and makes a repair a relatively simple job compared to replacing the disc. If not, have them drill the weep hole when they are in there.

Give them the opportunity to make it right.
