I would recommend doing a search on Tupperware removal on the forum to help strip the bike down. I have done this several times to add multiple fuse boxes which run my farkels. On of them is my 665 which I have mounted to a BMR shelf. This shelf also holds my V1 radar detector, Ram iPhone mount and charging connections/audio cables for all this plus mini usb. I've also taken out the OEM radio and replaced it with 12v cigarette power with chargers for USB charge for the bluetooth.
It will take some time and some extra cash but the fuse box will eliminate the need to route directly to the battery, give you the option of running switched vs unswitched power while having the protection of the correct sized fuses. I'm not the most mechanically or electrically inclined person but with this forum, a Clymer's manual and some patience you will be gratified by making your machine customized to your liking. Let me know if u have questions or need pics.

Ride safe.

If you want a safe place to tap into power run power all the way under the drivers seat and tap into the power at the heated seat plugs. you should have the plugs there even if you do not have heated seats.

you can get the radio center off if you only remove the two sides, you do not have to remove the dash cover with the speakers.

for the best instructions I have found for removal of the tupperware.

Your other option is to get a RAM mount for your GPS, they have one that screws onto the clutch or brake Master cyl cover. but you will want to run wires down the inside of the handlebar covers, and removing the sides makes it easier to run the wires.

for a link to the ram mount, this just means that has to be removed yearly for your brake fluid flush.

The easiest way to tap for switched power is from the map light at the very top of the dash. You can use a small flat blade screwdriver and pry it from either side. You can connect the positive to one of the tabs but check with a meter which side as if I recall correctly one side is constantly live while the other is "switched" (there is only power when the key is turned) and you want the switched power so your GPS will turn off when you shut off the engine.
