What's Your current mileage?

I've had my 99 K1200LT for the last three years and since just short of 98,000 Kms. Today I passed the 160,000 kms (100K miles) mark.
I use the bike for a 150 km commute three times a week but, city traffic is not kind to a large comfy bike and I'm actually considering getting a 250cc sports bike as a daily substitute.

From what I've seen, the LT is up for huge mileages, and my 100K miles are just breaking her in!

What is your current mileage?

Re: What's Your current mileage?

80k + miles, and I just bought at 2011 RT because of my new commute (17+ miles in the mean Los Angeles streets). The LT will be up for sale in a few days. I hope the RT will work well both as a commuter bike and for long Summer trips.

Just bought an 2005 K1200LT with 25 k on it. previous owner had only put 2k on it and sold it because he was not riding it enough. Bought in Sept. has 30 K on it and plan on putting a lot more on it. Great bike rides like a dream! I love it!!

Re: What's Your current mileage?

2009 LT/Hannigan conversion with 38,000 miles. Had the clutch done at 25,000 but otherwise no mechanical issues.

Had to get the OEM radio repaired, but I guess that's a pretty common issue.

90,000 or so on 2000 LT. One clutch due to rear seal. Many, many sets of rear brakes to kill the squeal, one driveline. Otherwise great bike I hope to keep many more years.

2005 LT from new, 89000 miles, New clutch at 45K but was towing a trailer.
Just now having problem with ABS unit. Great bike, but sometimes had hard to find faults. Wouldn't change it though.

Just booked a table for two for me and the wife. It was bound to end in tears though - she's crap at snooker.

Such an unfair world. When a man talks dirty to a woman its considered sexual harassment, but when a woman talks dirty to a man its £2.50/min
(charges may vary).

I had a final drive failure at 85k miles near Daytona that was rebuilt under extended warranty. At 120k I had a throw out bearing fail coming across NV and had to have tranny work done with included bearings and clutch, while they were there, cost $4,000. Right now I am having something going on with final drive. Not sure yet but may end up with another rebuild before rally season.

I'm looking forward to a long and happy relationship with my young 2002 LTE. Bought in July with just over 24K miles and are now just over 28K. I likely wouldn't have bought her if you all weren't here in this great forum. I just wish there were some K riders nearby in Southern Maryland. Great roads for riding!

Re: What's Your current mileage?

My 2000 LT has 77,480 miles (124,692 km). I am the 2nd owner, my brother was the original owner (he took exceptional care of the LT). Over the course of the past 15 years the major problems experienced by my LT have been:

1. Motronic unit failed and replaced at 20,000 miles
2. Clutch replaced due to engine oil seal leak, which was also replaced at 40,000 miles
3. Final drive replaced at 45,000 (replaced due to a minor rear end accident with a Honda Gold Wing - final drive was working OK but replaced due to cosmetic damage only and paid for by the insurance company - I recently had Saddleman recondition the original unit as a spare -I believe he indicated to me that this final drive would have failed eventually since it was out of tolerance, (also as a side note - the Honda Gold Wing's front folk bent in the accident, the owner sold it shortly afterward, the LT was had no damage except for some cosmetic scrapes).
4. Front brake line leaked at 70,000 miles, replaced all brake lines with the Spiegler brake line replacement kit.

I have replaced other major components such as Yacugar front and rear shocks, etc., but was upgrading and not due to any failures. The engine runs like new, doesn't burn any oil, the valves have always been in tolerances, probably the best item on the LT. Like others have previously stated the LT engine seems to break in at very high mileage and keeps going strong.

Re: What's Your current mileage?

Just a little more than 100K miles on my 2002LT. Original clutch & FD. Almost all the miles were with a passenger on the back & half the mileage was pulling a trailer. Still runs & pulls great. I had to replace the ABS pump 2 years ago but that is the only failure other than "Cow Bell" rear brake rotor that I replaced with an EBC at around 40K.

Sure will.. took a little longer than expected. Had some overseas trips and daughters wedding. No real USA trips last couple years. Maybe squeeze a 3000 mile one in somewhere. Soon. have a 1000 mile weekend with some friends at the end of Feb.

45 years riding and still more places to see.

Re: What's Your current mileage?

34K, I am third owner. Plan on putting lots of miles on this one. My previous 2000 model had 47K on it, when I sold it 6 years ago... Glad to back in saddle again !

Re: What's Your current mileage?

I pale in comparison to others but - 60k miles on my '03 and just turned over 20K on my '05. I am the third owner of both. My '03 needed a new final drive at 30K and was replaced with an used one from an '06 that was triked.

Re: What's Your current mileage?

had an 2005 starting with 24k was totaled by a deer with 35k no problems. Replaced with an 09 with 6k in August 2014 has 13k now. just replaced the rear brakes and tires. I love my LT as it handles great in the curves!! Much better than the goldwings I have ridden. Looking forward to more riding this year.

1999 LT. 48,000 + change. I've had it a year and got it with 38,000 on it. Just finished the 12,000 mile maintenance plus some other things. What a learning experience!

Re: What's Your current mileage?

99 LT with 140k on it. Was thinking of parting ways with it but am finding out that there aren't many who want to buy a bike with that many miles on it so I might as well keep riding it. 1 clutch at 107k and final drive rebuilt by Saddleman at 127k. A couple of slave cylinders, a rear main seal, Spiegler brake lines and no radio. It still does run well however.
