best guess electrical

Well it,s me again. What would you look at first to see what is the problem.
New reverser module, new rear wiring harness installed and new actuating switch for reverser. Can find no shorted out wires in front harness at all and have all plastic removed from front end also.
What happens is this, Turn on key, all indicator lights come on, turn off key and all lights are still there except those for ABS system, Starter will still not engage at any point. Lights do not go out unless battery dis-connected.
Could it be ignition switch or is there a relay somewhere that I could check, starter relay looks real good on new harness.
Havin a good time now don,t ya know. Ideas please. I am still waiting on a Clymer manuel but have gotten some wiring diagram pictures emailed to me.

Re: best guess electrical

It sounds like you have what I refer to as a "loop" in your wiring. Something on the lamp side of the relay is feeding back into the trigger circuit for the relay. So when you activate the key, the lamp side of the relay which comes on with the key supplies electricity to the coil in the relay which activates the lamps. That holds the relay shut until it resets when you disconnect the battery.

Thanks , Dean. Mechanic is checking wiring again as he had some splices and same colored wires. What I do not like is the starter button does nothing yet, cross the relay and it turns over. My goodness what a mess.
