Air chuck

I know this might sound strange but have any one of you had problems airing up your tires? I place my chuck on the valve stem and I have to press like hell to get the tires to accept any air. It is like the needle valve in the chuck will not make contact with the needle valve in the stem. If I can get the check just right I can get some air to go in slowly. Thinking I had a bad chuck and I am still having the same problem. Any one have ideas?

Re: Air chuck

Could be the valve stem. My wife's Chrysler has TPMS and I have a heck of time getting air into those. My bikes all have metal stems and I have no issue with the same chuck.

Re: Air chuck

I have the same problem (I also have a bad nerve in my left hand and I'm lefthanded) so I use a screw-on chuck. works every time.

Re: Air chuck

I notice that with mine I have to really press the air chuck hard to get air into the tires. I do not know if it is the air chuck or valve stem but just live with it. My car is the same way and they are normal valve stems.

Re: Air chuck

I bought a chuck off Snap On the other day that is a screwdriver handle. Works great for the bike. Front wheel is hard to air up anyway. Makes it easier on my arthritic hands...............
