Removing CD Player.

First I must confess that Iím not at all technically inclined. Iíve got 10 thumbs on my two hands, but I want to do this myself.
Ever since I bought my 1999 LT more than two years ago, I never used the CD player. I want to remove that from the right saddle bag. What do I do with wiring once I removed that? Can I just tape it close and leave it as is or what do you people suggest? Is it possible that I will do any damage to the other functions on the bike?
I can use that space much better which is taken up by the CD player.

I pulled mine out right after I got the bike. No big deal. Does not affect any other system. I left the wires as is in case I want to add a Dice unit at a later time. Just tie them out of the way neatly.

I also removed mine from my 2002 a few years ago. You get much more room in the sidecase by doing so.

Once I got it out, I just unplugged the wiring and left it. My reason was that I was not getting any water leaking in and thought that by removing the wiring I could flirt with leaks. The secondary reason was that if I did add a dice unit later on.

Re: Removing CD Player.

DICE no longer exists. Silverline by Audiovox(Vox) is an iPod interface device that connects to the cd wiring. See the iSimple thread thread on the next page.

False. You can still find Dice units out there. Here are a few on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Dice-i-BMW-T-S...glink121728-20
