Re: Mick o Pegs

I love mine for long rides over multiple days.
Only caveat is that if you have loose pant bottoms they can get caught in the pegs when you want to put your leg down.

Re: Mick o Pegs

I used the J-pegs for several years and found them to be difficult to use and not very useful. I traded for an older set of Mick-o-pegs and love them, they have minor limitations but much easier use/engage, real relief while riding and don't look half bad when not in use. J-pegs are pretty well hidden, the Micks are not. I say, Micks over j's

My LT has both Micks and J-Pegs...PO couldn't make up his mind so he installed both. I like the Micks better.

Re: Mick o Pegs

I Have the Micks and like them.. its good to stretch my legs on a longer ride
Also good people to do business with, I ordered the short and they were to short so they sent me the regulars as soon as I called and didn't wait for the returned ones to get back to them

+1 on all the positive comments listed previously. My '05 LT (sold) had Jpegs and Mick-o-Pegs. I liked the MOPs much better; they give you lots of knee relief, and with a much more natural sitting/riding position than the Jpegs. A nice family-owned business, too.

Thumbs up Re: Mick o Pegs

I agree, MOP's are great for the long straight roads, able to stretch out.

Worth the investment.

I also have a 2005 LT.

Re: Mick o Pegs

If you have an LT and don't have these... I'd buy them. That's a right good price for almost new pegs and to me, with sets on my '99 LT and also the '07 LT, I'm a died in the wool Mick O Peg user. I have two buddies that got bikes with the J Pegs on them and I rode one and didn't like it at all. The MOP's are like you are riding a horse and saddle and your feet are in the stirrups.

Granted, I have had the pull from the left side when they got caught under my pants leg once or twice. I just lifted my leg up a bit and got it off. I learned quickly to ride in jeans and buy all my riding pants two inches longer than my inseam to compensate for that, the higher heals on the riding boots and the catch on the pegs. I haven't had the catching on the pants leg at all on the '07. The Mick O Pegs fold up under when you are not using them and are just more comfortable to me.

What he said. I really like mine but you have to learn how to put your feet when you have them.

Re: Mick o Pegs

I tried to get used to J Pegs for a season, and gave up-they were so uncomfortable for me. the MOP are perfect for me. I did the four corner ride last year, several 900 mile days, no cramping or uncomfortable position at all.

Wearing Streetguard pants and you won't catch your pants legs!

Speakin' of Highway Ottomans - last summer while chasing wire gremlins for 6 months, I took ole Toad's H-Os off and never put 'em back on. Been thinking we oughta sell 'em to someone who can get some use out of 'em. I'll do some thinkin' on pricing and then be posting 'em to see if any interest. Thanks for the reminder, Jer.

Thanks for spelling it correctly, Dick. I was stumbling on the spelling and just "winged" it. Wrong!

I have the J-pegs and they mount to high and are uncomfortable. I,m looking for another more comfortable solution that is lower.

Brad please try them before you buy. Great idea but for some people they position the shin to hit the back of the crash wings. Loved the idea but I couldn't use them.

Re: Mick o Pegs

I'm happy with my MOPs. The shin thing is a very slight downside, but it shall about just positioning your feet a little differently and you're not touching your shins.

A friend of mine who had highway ottomans modified the mounting bracket on those to put a pair of pegs above and forward of the tip over bars. When he's riding it looks like he's riding a recumbent bicycle, but he swears these are the best he's tried. Not very aerodynamic but he really gets to stretch out. One day I'm gonna weld up a set and try them for myself...

I HATED THEM!! my pants got stuck to them causing serious puckering at traffic lights, thats why i traded them for the covers that were ruined when darn pegs were installed, with a fella here.

I love my J-pegs.... well not as highway pegs, they are perfect places to mount a Go-Pro camera.

This is the go-pro tripod mount bolted through the hole in the end of the peg.

I wasn't sure which set I would like best, so I found the JPeg/Mick O combo set on here for sale. I am 6'4", 34" inseam. I find the most comfort in the JPegs personally. I like the MO's but they don't seem to be as natural a seating position as the JPegs. Personal preference, of course.

What I REALLY like is having these 2 choices, along with the stock pegs- gives me 3 options on the road, which helps A LOT with that terrible stock seat!
